Junior Freediving
8 - 11 Years Old
Discover/Lap/Wave Courses

Do you want your child to improve their focus and concentration, get confident in the water, and learn the joy of setting and achieving goals?

Let your child gradually explore their freediving abilities with the Junior Freediving 8 - 11 y/o courses! These courses focus on swimming and diving techniques, with each level building progressively upon skills learned in the previous level - giving your child goals to aim for while introducing an appreciation of the underwater world to them!

Lap Courses

Junior Lap courses take place in the pool or in confined water, with plenty of fun games to keep them on their toes!

Lap Discover Freediving Experience

Wave Courses
(Independent of Lap Courses)

Junior Wave courses take place in open water and are separate from Lap courses. They introduce and slowly build upon your child’s depth freediving skills through underwater missions and games!

Wave Discover Freediving Experience

Your child will learn the basics of freediving theory, how to relax and prepare their bodies for diving, and how to perform underwater swimming techniques with flutter kicks (DYNB) and dolphin kicks (DYN). They’ll get their first taste of depth freediving by experiencing how to dive to depth by pulling on a line (FIM), flutter kicking on the line (CWTB), and dolphin kicking to depth on a line (CWT).

Course Goals

Understand freediving theory:

What is freediving?
Equalization
Equipment for open water sessions

Participate in a dry training session:

Body scan and relaxation
Equalization practice
Dry swimming: Flutter kick technique
Dry swimming: Dolphin kick technique

Experience open water freediving:

Duck dive
DYNB
DYN
FIM
CWTB
CWT

Certification Requirements

None

Course Duration

2 - 2.5 hours

Wave 1 Course

Your child will dive into the basics of freediving theory, learn how to flutter kick at the surface, pull their way down and up a line (FIM), and flutter kick to depth (CWTB).

Prerequisites
