How to Measure Your Feet for Molchanovs Hand-Built Custom Foot Pockets

Congratulations on the future purchase of your Molchanovs custom fins! Please ask someone to help you take your measurements with a flexible tape measure for more accurate estimations.

Measurements

Here is a list of the measurements you will need to send to us. If it is unclear how to take a specific measurement, check out our video on how to take custom foot pocket measurements below.

If you plan on wearing socks with your foot pockets, please take all of your measurements while wearing your intended diving socks.

Foot Length

  1. Stand up straight against a wall and on a flat surface with your heels touching the wall. Place a sheet of paper underneath your feet and line up the edge of the paper with the wall.
  2. Mark the paper at the tip of your big toe (or second toe, whichever is longer) on both feet.
  3. Step away from the sheet of paper and use a tape measure to measure the edge of the paper where your heels touched to the mark of the tip of your toe.
  4. Record the measurement.

Foot Circumference

  1. From the bend of the ankle (at the top of the foot), measure 3cm (1.18in) in the direction of your toes and mark this spot on your foot.
  2. At this marked spot, measure the circumference of your foot. Make sure that the tape measure is neither too lose nor too tight, and that it is perpendicular to the surface you are standing on.
  3. Record the measurement.

Optional measurement for wide feet

  1. Measure the circumference of the widest point of your foot (usually near the toes). Make sure that the tape measure is neither too lose nor too tight, and that it is perpendicular to the surface you are standing on. If you have bunions on the sides of your feet near the base of the big toe or the pinky toe, make sure to measure directly over them.
  2. Record the measurement.

Supinator (Arch) Support

  1. Stand up straight against a wall and on a flat surface with your heels touching the wall. Place the same sheet of paper under your foot where you measured your foot length.
  2. Mark three points on the paper: where the arch begins, where the arch ends, and the middle of the arch at its highest point.
    1. Measure the length from the mark of the tip of your toe to the beginning of the arch. Record the measurement.
    2. Measure the length from the mark of the tip of your toe to the highest point of the arch. Record the measurement.
    3. Measure the length from the mark of the tip of your toe to the end of the arch. Record the measurement.
    4. Mark your foot at the highest point of the arch and measure the arch height. Record the measurement.
