Monofin hard case by the beach

Moscow, Russia, 18 Nov 2020

Molchanovs is releasing the Hard Case, a new 100 liter case designed for multiple pieces of diving equipment, including a monofin, with a hard shell in blue or black that can be checked as baggage on flights. The Hard Case will become available to the public on November 21, 2020.

Traveling with freediving equipment and protecting it during transit can be cumbersome, especially with delicate materials such as fiberglass and carbon fiber. This is why Molchanovs has created a hard-shell case that can house a monofin, a pair of bifins, a wetsuit, and other freediving accessories, all in one place. The Hard Case can also be used for finswimming equipment, mermaid tails, and any other equipment for water activities. The case features a telescoping handle, four premium 360° spinner wheels, and an interior compression system for easy transit, whether a freediver is taking a weekend trip to a nearby town or flying internationally for their next adventure.

Molchanovs already provides the community with functional soft and semihard bags for freediving equipment, but a truly hard case on four wheels that can fit a monofin, a pair of bifins, and multiple wetsuits, along with every other piece of gear, does not exist. Molchanovs identified this particular issue, especially with traveling freediving athletes and monofin enthusiasts, and decided to come up with a solution. While lightweight bags are excellent for transporting equipment directly to a dive site, the Hard Case provides the protection a freediver needs for longer periods of transit with the added comfort of four wheels.

“I travel a lot with my monofin,” said Alexey Molchanov, co-founder of Molchanovs and multiple world record holder and champion. “My students, friends, and dive buddies frequently asked me for something on wheels for their own monofins, something convenient, so their requests fuelled this project. This is how we do things; we look at what freedivers really need and we make it. I’m really proud of this product.”

Our mission at Molchanovs is to share our love of freediving with the world. We do this by cultivating the level of knowledge and skill of all freedivers, by building global and local communities that fuel passion for freediving, and by developing gear that provides the best freediving experience possible.
