ABOUT TONGA Tonga islands are an unique place in the Pacific where you can dive with humpback whales. The islands are remote and almost unexplored; out of the 170 islands of the kingdom, only 40 are inhabited. They are surrounded by amazingly unspoiled beautiful coral reefs, which are home for one of the world's biggest number of marines species, colorful and bright fishes, rays, sea turtles and whale sharks. From June to November the Tonga waters are full with whale’s song because humpback whales come to these warm waters in Polynesia for reproduction. Tonga is one of the rare places where it is permitted to swim near whales; however, this should be done according to the state rules and without scuba, to not disturb the giants. Near the islands there are many underwater wreck sites. The volcanic base of the islands provides a great variety of underwater landscapes. There is always something to be impressed with.
